Appointments

Before requesting an appointment with one of our clinicians, it may be worth looking at our self-referrals page to check if a surgery appointment is needed for the service you require.

How To Request An Appointment

Our standard opening hours are 08:30-18:00, Monday-Friday. The phone lines are closed from 13:00-14:00 (for urgent calls then ring 111) but the surgery desk remains open during this period.

We also offer routine doctor only telephone / video clinics on alternate Monday evenings and alternate Saturday mornings, for patients who find it difficult to access an appointment during our normal opening times. Patients should be aware that during these additional sessions, the surgery will not be open for any other business.

When the surgery is closed and GP advice cannot wait till the following day call 111 for access to an out of hours clinician.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Online Booking

Please note that since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic all direct online appointment booking has been suspended to enable us to triage in advance as we are a COVID-19 safe surgery and cannot see patients face to face with COVID-19 symptoms- there are alternative services we can refer to instead such as the Hot Hub.

All requests for new appointments are subject to telephone triage and requests for follow up/nurse appointments that have been requested by a clinician may not require an additional telephone appointment but will still need to be booked via our reception team by calling 01752 561305.

If you want to consult on behalf of someone else and/or do not have a contact phone number to hand, you can still contact the surgery via our existing eConsult system.

Calling The Practice

By calling the practice, you may be able to:

  • Book a telephone consultation with a GP or nurse that can be converted to a video consultation if clinically necessary or enhanced by securely sent photos (via email/texted link).
  • Receive a referral via our reception team to the Community Pharmacy Service based at local pharmacies to treat minor illness.
  • Receive a referral via our reception team to our partner PushDoctor service that offers video consultations with local South West GPs.

Telephone Advice

If a patient needs to speak to a GP or Nurse for medical advice, they can do so by phoning 01752 561305 where a receptionist will advise them when the clinician is available.

Telephone consultation appointments are available to book.

Urgent Visits

If you require urgent assistance for a medical emergency, please ring us and tell us as clearly as possible what the problem is. A doctor will often speak to you to assess the problem and, if necessary, the doctor will call as soon as is humanly possible. Alternatively you may be advised to dial 999 for an ambulance.

Therefore, please only use this facility if a genuine emergency exists, and not for the sake of convenience.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please visit our online cancellation triage, as this will allow us to give the slot to someone else.
